That’s a Wrap!

I can’t believe that we are here, putting the finishing touches to another Warriors season.  Yet even while I say that, things are already beginning to rol for next year.

I was pleased to be able to make two presentations on March 12 at the year end Warriors Awards Dinner.  It was my pleasure to present the 2011-12 Humanitarian Award to Brennan Clark and the Chaplaincy Program Award to Peter MacIntosh.  Brennan has been faithful all year long almost every Wednesday evening in assisting me in feeding people in downtown Kelowna.  Most of the people we help are homeless and/or bound by some form of addiction.  Brennan served hot dogs and spent time with anyone who came for food, for care and value. Each week we served between 30 – 80 people. Undoubtedly, Brennan is a very deserving winner of this year’s Humanitarian Award.

Peter MacIntosh has been a real leader in his senior year with the Warriors.  I felt that he connected well in all of our Warriors Chapels.  Even in the rare occasion when Peter would have another appointment, he would let me know that he couldn’t make it to chapel that day.  I have come to appreciate Pete this year more and more.  I will definitely keep track of his progress and where he ends up playing this next year.

I will be taking a bit of a summer break from my Chaplains Talk blog. I will be posting from time to time, but not every week as usual during the regular season.  Thanks so very much to all of you for helping make chaplaincy so incredibly rewarding.
Grace and Peace in Christ,
Don Richmond
